Getting to Port Douglas
Cairns International Airport is around 50 minutes south of Port Douglas. International visitors can choose to travel from the airport to Port Douglas by coach, limousine, hire car, helicopter.
Within Australia, Qantas offers daily flights to Cairns from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville, Ayers Rock, Darwin and Hamilton Island. Flights from other cities go via these cities. Virgin Blue offers daily flights to Cairns from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with connections from other cities via these points. Queensland Rail has 2 trains which travel from Brisbane to Cairns five times per week. The Sunlander has seats and berths and takes 31 hours. The Tilt Train only offers business class seats and takes 25 hours.
