Port Douglas TV Show / Mini Series - The Pacific

The Pacific has a budget of more than $150 million, and is to be filmed in Port Douglas August. Many of the crew have already come to the Queensland site, with production getting well underway later in this year.

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are the executive producers of the large project, which follows on from their Band Of Brothers series.

It is unsure whether Hanks and Spielberg will actually travel to Australia to oversee the making of the series.

A large number of Australian cast and crew will work on The Pacific Mini Series, the plot focuses on the story of three US marines based in the Pacific during World War II.
